No jingles but yes mascots
This one was super fun. The brief: convince teens that sports betting on their phones is bad.
My creative partner and I started to go a mascot route, since it was explicitly sports betting that we were talking about. We thought the idea of an Allstate Mayhem type of character could be super funny. A personification of mobile sports betting that ruins your life. But the client, the Delaware Council on Problem Gambling, are not anti-gambling. They’re anti-problem gambling. So we had to tread this line of being anti-gambling but not too anti-gambling. Thus the idea of mobile online sports betting gets in the way was born.
Yes, using the almost forcefully clumsy “mobile online sports betting” was at their insistance.
We came up with Teazer, a chaotic character that gets in the way of important life moments.
